The following Eve of Lent message comes from the desk of Joe Bundrant, CEO of Trident Seafoods.

As the season of Lent begins, I want to take a moment to acknowledge and appreciate every member of the Trident family. That includes our loyal customers, dedicated fishing families, trusted suppliers, consumers, and all those who make our work possible.

For those who observe, Lent is a time of reflection and renewal. For all of us at Trident, it also marks one of our busiest seasons, when our collective efforts ensure that wild-caught, sustainable seafood reaches tables around the world.

The dedication, resilience, and teamwork of our fishermen, plant workers, support teams, and sales professionals are what make it possible for Trident to thrive 50-plus years after my father, and the late Trident founder Chuck Bundrant, started the company. It is through the hard work and commitment of our employees that Trident can carry out our mission of responsibly sharing wild Alaska seafood with the world. I’m proud to work alongside such an incredible team.

Let’s also take a moment to recognize those currently fishing in the icy waters of the Bering Sea and the Gulf of Alaska. Their grit and bravery fuel everything we do, and we pray for their safety as they work tirelessly to bring in the catch for the millions of people around the world who, as part of their faith, abstain from eating meat on Fridays during the Lenten season.

To every member of the Trident family—from our vessels and processing facilities in Alaska to our teams, customers and consumers around the world—thank you. I wish you all a peaceful Lenten season and a safe and fulfilling year ahead.
