Avara Foods Contradicts Trend with New Investments
"Avara Foods, a leading food company in the UK and a significant employer in Telford, is bucking the national trend in UK manufacturing. A recent study by EEF and Santander Bank revealed a significant contraction in manufacturing investment in the first half of 2018. However, Avara continues to invest in various ways. Since the Telford plant was reopened in 2015 after a £36m expansion and overhaul, the company has consistently invested in technology, automation, and infrastructure. Inside the facility, whole chickens are divided and packaged into products that supermarket customers would recognize. In August, Telford reached a new record of processing 1.5 million chickens per week. Marcus Billig, the site manager, stated, ""This year has been outstanding for our Telford site. The factory has rapidly adapted, surpassed goals, and handled the additional demand exceptionally well. The influx of extra work in Telford will be beneficial for continuous recruitment and development."" You can read Avara Food's official press release here."
