About

ABP Food Group is an Irish-headquartered, family-owned food business and one of Europe’s major beef processors. Founded in 1954, the group operates an integrated supply chain spanning livestock procurement, slaughtering, processing, value-added food manufacturing, logistics and by-product recovery. Its operations include facilities in Ireland, the United Kingdom and continental Europe, supported by a workforce of more than 10,000 people. ABP serves retail, foodservice, manufacturing and wholesale customers and has developed specialist capabilities in sustainable beef production, traceability and lower-carbon supply-chain initiatives. The group also has interests in pet food and renewable-energy-related activities.

Products

ABP’s principal food offering is fresh, chilled and frozen beef, including primal cuts, steaks, mince, diced beef, burgers and other prepared or portion-controlled products. The business also supplies lamb through selected operations and produces tailored meat solutions for retailers, foodservice operators and industrial food manufacturers. Its vertically integrated model enables the company to provide specification-led products, private-label lines, branded ranges and co-products derived from meat processing.

Export markets

ABP supplies customers across Ireland, the United Kingdom and mainland Europe, with international distribution extending to export markets in the Middle East, Asia and other global destinations where approved Irish and European beef is traded. Its commercial model is primarily business-to-business, serving supermarket groups, restaurant and catering channels, wholesalers and food manufacturers. Export activity is supported by multi-site processing capacity, cold-chain logistics and market-specific quality, traceability and animal-welfare requirements.
