Changes in the German management team: Dr Veronika Weber appointed as new Director Quality Assurance & Operations Germany
Dr Veronika Weber will assume the position of Director Operations Germany from 1 June 2024, in addition to her current role as Director Quality Assurance Germany. She succeeds Uwe Tost, who will leave the company on 1 July 2024.
Dr Weber (31), a veterinarian with a doctorate and winner of the Meat Industry Award, is widely acknowledged in the industry as an expert in quality assurance and animal welfare. Her remarkable expertise and extensive management experience render her the ideal candidate for this position. “Dr Veronika Weber brings a high level of expertise and strategic thinking, making her an excellent choice for this position. Her past achievements and dedication have demonstrated that she has the necessary skills, abilities and energy to succeed in this role,” states Philippe Thomas, COO Germany.
In her new dual role, Dr Weber will oversee the operational business of all German sites while strengthening the alignment between the company’s operational, quality and animal welfare goals. These objectives are integral to Vion Food Group’s strategy of integrated sustainable chains.
Effective July 1, 2024, Uwe Tost will step down from his role as Manager Operations of Vion Food Group Germany. Additionally, he will be relieved of his duties as Managing Director at all subsidiaries of Vion Food Group as of June 1, 2024. Uwe Tost and Vion management have mutually agreed to this decision. Vion extends its gratitude to Uwe Tost for his significant impact as Director Operations & Supply Chain, which have greatly contributed to the successful management of the German sites since October 2021.
