About
Cermaq Global is an Oslo-headquartered salmon farming group and a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation. The company farms and supplies responsibly produced salmon through integrated operations in Norway, Chile and Canada, covering broodstock and hatchery activities, sea farming, harvesting, processing and sales. Cermaq positions fish health, animal welfare, environmental performance and traceability as central operating priorities. Its international footprint combines production in major cold-water aquaculture regions with commercial supply to seafood customers in multiple global markets.
Products
Cermaq’s core product is farmed salmon, principally Atlantic salmon, supplied in formats suited to seafood processing, retail and foodservice channels. Depending on origin and customer requirements, its offering can include whole fresh or frozen salmon, headed-and-gutted fish, fillets and other processed salmon solutions. Chilean operations also support production of coho salmon. Product programmes are supported by origin-based traceability and farming standards focused on fish welfare and responsible aquaculture.
Export markets
Cermaq serves international seafood markets, with sales directed from its Norwegian, Chilean and Canadian production bases to customers across Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific. The company is particularly positioned to supply high-volume retail, foodservice and seafood-processing demand, while its global ownership and operational network support access to established salmon-importing markets, including Japan and other Asian destinations.
