McDonald's Names Avara Farmer as Farmer of the Year

Mark Green, a farmer who provides McDonalds with chicken and potatoes from his Avara farm, has been honored as their Exceptional Farmer of the Year. McDonalds chose Mark as their champion at the Great Yorkshire Show this year, from a finalist group of three that also comprised of beef and dairy farmers. Mark has been a supplier to McDonalds for nearly two decades, cultivating potatoes for their renowned fries and, more recently, rearing chicken for the UK menu. Mark's recognition is a result of substantial investment in his farm, including renewable energy and comprehensive underfloor heating, to ensure environmental efficiency and a conducive environment for his chickens. McDonald’s also acknowledged Mark's dedication to his local community, managing two local pubs that serve as significant amenities for locals and tourists. Kudos also to Will Watkins who received the Poultry Category of the Year Award for McDonalds.
