I have a wide range of experience - from working directly with farmers on the physical side, through to managing a corporate hedging book, physical book, spread-trading and working with other off-takers in the market. I have experience in the procurement of raw material for plants or factories in the soft commodity space. My experience in derivatives trading is extensive - both futures and options in the local and international market. I understand the cash-flow implications of different derivative instruments and can manage positions to ensure that the needs of either the farmer or corporate are met, sustainably, at all times. My experience in market analysis enables me to analyze micro and macro trends in the local and international markets in order to identify potential or expected market moves. Trading strategies or hedge advice is developed from the analyses. I am skilled in Reuters and Excel to enable the correct interpretation of market data and to use that interpretations in Hedging or speculative trading. I have a strong background in both technical and fundamental analysis of commodity markets. I am skilled in collecting and interpreting a large amount of data into usable information and model building to ensure that the objectives of the role I am fulfilling are met at all times.
